The users who possessed high tech suits gives them significant advantage over inferior units without the means to pierce the armor plating of the suits, the suits can even provide other capabilities such as computer interfaces, hidden weapons, enhanced conditions, all sorts of possible technological emplacements that are well beyond real world tech.
They are either permanently fixed to one's body or they can take it off whenever they choose.
